Stop Credit Card Applications
Many credit card companies get your information from credit reporting agencies. That's how they decide to extend an offer. You can contact any of the three, Experian, Equifax, and Transunion. Or, you can call 1-888-5-opt-out (1-888-5678-688) to have your name and information removed from all three.
Also, the Direct Marketing Association enables you to register to have your name removed from its members' list for five years. You can register to stop telemarketing calls and junk mail.
