Hurricane Survival Checklist
Tune in to WFLA's Storm Team 8 Coverage,
and be sure to have the following items on hand:
- Drinking water for 5-10 days - one gallon/person/day
- Canned food for 1-2 weeks
- Extra batteries and (waterproofed) matches
- Flashlights or electric lamps
- Camp Stove with extra fuel
- Fire extinguisher
- First Aid Kit
- Portable Radio or TV (for NOAA weather info)
- Pet Food (for 1-3 weeks)
- Extra car & house keys, prescription glasses or contacts.
- Car Tire Sealant
- Canvas Tarpolin and other waterproof covering for furniture
- Blankets and/or sleeping bags
- Change of clothes, raingear, sturdy shoes, gloves.
- Medicine - especially if you are taking prescription medication
- Rope
- Plastic Bags
- Baby Supplies for 1-3 weeks
- Eating utensils (paper plates, plastic forks, etc)
- Manual Can Opener
- Children's amusement kit - games, toys, special stuffed animals
- CASH on hand for supplies
